Hjálparfoss is a beautiful heart-shaped waterfall located near the point where two fishing rivers Fossá and Þjórsá join. One of these rivers, namely, Þjórsá is the longest river in Iceland.

Hjálparfoss is not included in the so-called Golden ring of Iceland, which includes the most famous sites. It makes the location less touristic, more authentic and more enjoyable.

Reaching Hjálparfoss by car is not straightforward unless you have a bigfoot. You need to leave you car near road 32 (otherwise the car is likely to get stuck in the mud) and take a walk for about 20 minutes.
