This canyon is not as big as the Grand Canyon in the USA but it does not matter. This one is greener and somewhat more charming. The water is clean and transparent and there is a great view point.
It is nice to spend here about one hour walking around. The valley is nicely preserved, which makes it a true nature’s masterpiece.
The canyon is up to 100 meters deep. Be careful if you visit this place in winter since the paths can be slippery.
In order to reach Fjadrargljufur you will have to leave the asphalt road and follow a pretty steep gravel driveway. Formally speaking, you need a 4×4 vechicle for that. In practice, a usual city car (along with some courage) may also suffice ?
